gg Cricket Betting — Choose the Best Markets from T20 to Test
Bet on every moment of BPL, IPL and international matches. Cricket betting at gg means a simple interface, familiar payment methods and live in-play options — all in one place.
Cricket's Three Formats and Major Tournaments
Understanding the format is the most important part of cricket betting. In a T20 match, big scores are posted in 20 overs, so a team's power-hitting ability matters most. In an ODI or 50-over match, the game plan shifts gradually and market prices change quickly when wickets fall mid-game. In Test cricket, the situation can turn dramatically over five days — pitch behaviour, weather and team combination all have an impact.
The most popular tournament for Bangladeshi fans is the BPL (Bangladesh Premier League). Local and overseas stars play together in this tournament, keeping markets active throughout. IPL also draws a huge fanbase. Beyond that, the Bangladesh Tigers' matches in the T20 World Cup and ICC tournaments carry a different level of excitement.
Football betting is different from cricket — a 90-minute game ends much faster, a draw creates a separate market, and live betting on European club competitions is quite popular. Other sports such as tennis or badminton generally run season by season and offer fewer markets than cricket.
7 Popular Betting Markets Players Choose
Each market works differently. Here is a brief introduction to seven familiar markets.
Match Winner
Bet on which of the two teams will win. The final match result counts, not the toss. This is the simplest and most widely used market in T20 and ODI.
Toss Winner
This market is simply about which team wins the toss at the start of the match. It has no connection to the match result. It is settled quickly, which is why many players choose it.
Top Batsman
Bet on which batsman will score the most runs in a specific team's innings. Current form and pitch conditions are important factors here.
Total Runs Over/Under
Bet on whether the total runs scored in an innings or across the whole match will be more (over) or less (under) than a set number.
Top Wicket-Taker
Bet on which bowler will take the most wickets in the match. The nature of the pitch and the opposition's batting lineup help inform this decision.
Powerplay Score
This market covers how many runs a team will score in the first six overs. In T20, the powerplay is aggressive, so odds move quickly.
Multi Bet (Multiple Selections)
Place bets on multiple matches or multiple markets within the same match to increase the combined odds. However, if any single selection is wrong, the entire multi bet is lost. Read our detailed analysis in the Betting Tips Guide.
How to Read Odds — Three Formats
Most betting sites including gg use three types of odds formats: decimal, fractional and American. All three express the same probability in different ways.
| Format | Price for Team A to win | Return on a ৳500 bet |
|---|---|---|
| Decimal | 3.00 | ৳1,500 (৳1,000 profit + ৳500 stake returned) |
| Fractional | 2/1 | Same — ৳2 profit for every ৳1 staked |
| American | +200 | ৳200 profit on a ৳100 stake, so ৳1,000 profit on ৳500 |
Example 1 (underdog): Team A's decimal odds are 3.00, fractional 2/1, American +200. A winning ৳500 bet returns ৳1,500 in total — ৳1,000 profit plus the original ৳500 stake back. If it loses, ৳500 is gone.
Example 2 (favourite): Team B's decimal odds are 1.25, fractional 1/4, American -400. A minus number in American format means how much you need to stake to win ৳100 — here it is ৳400. A winning ৳500 bet returns ৳625 in total, a profit of just ৳125.
Favourites have lower odds and therefore lower profit — this is a basic principle of betting.
Tip
Decimal format is the easiest — just multiply the odds by your stake to get the total return.
Live In-Play Betting — Market Prices Change Wicket by Wicket
Live
Market prices update after every delivery while the match is in progress.
In-play or live betting means you can place bets even after the match has started. In cricket this is especially popular because the game can turn at any moment.
Say Team A is batting and two wickets fall in the very first over — the odds on Team A winning will suddenly lengthen (meaning the platform now considers them a less likely winner). Conversely, if a batter keeps hitting boundaries, the odds will shorten quickly.
If many wickets fall in the powerplay, the odds on 'total runs under' shorten — because fewer wickets in hand makes a lower total more likely. The opposite can happen if strong batters are still to come in the death overs.
During live betting you need to make decisions quickly, as markets are occasionally suspended temporarily. For more betting strategies, see our detailed guide on the Betting Tips page.
